2 days tour from Fes to Chefchaouen:
- DAY 1: FROM FEZ TO CHEFCHAOUEN VIA OUAZZAN
After having breakfast, we will begin our journey from Fes to the Blue Pearl in Chefchaouen. Take a trip across the stunning scenery of the rich coastal plains with our vehicle. Continue down the road until you reach the area of the Rif Mountains, which is the center of the site for the tranquil city of Chefchaouen, which is blue and whitewashed in color.
Spend the day getting lost in the narrow alleyways of the welcoming medina, which are painted blue and white. Visit the walled stronghold of the Kasbah, which has lovely gardens and is located next to a small museum and art gallery that displays the diverse and rich culture of the Rif Mountains.
View a breathtaking vista of the blue and whitewashed homes, tiled roofs, and little balconies from the rooftop of the Kasbah. After you have finished touring the medina, you may go for a stroll on the surrounding slopes, which have some lovely and stunning waterfalls. Wool outfits and woven blankets are only two examples of indigenous handicrafts that can be purchased in this town that cannot be found anywhere else in Morocco. Goat cheese, which is a specialty of the region, is also very popular. After dinner, spend the night at a local house.
- DAY 2: FROM CHEFCHOUEN TO FEZ VIA VOLUBILIS AND MEKNES
Following breakfast, we will make our way to the well-preserved Roman remains of Volubilis, which date back to 225 BC. Here, you will find some of the most stunning mosaics in all of Morocco, that go back to the third century BC. Following our excursion to this one-of-a-kind location, we will go to the holy town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun. Afterward, we will make our way back to Meknes by car and begin our exploration of the Medina there. This magnificent city served as the nation’s capital under Moulay Ismail’s rule in Morocco; hence, it is sometimes referred to as the “Ismailian capital of Morocco.”
It’s also known as “the walled city” in certain circles. You will get the opportunity to see the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the Granary, the Sahrij Souani basin, the well-known Gate of Bab Mansour, as well as the subterranean Qara Prison and the Dome of the Ambassadeurs. You will have some free time in the afternoon to stroll about the plaza while being entertained by musicians, storytellers, and snake charmers. Back at night in Fez.
